Welcome! You’ve stumbled upon the musings of an oldish man in Brooklyn. In the summer of 1985, being greener than most, I arrived here to work. There and then, and all my life since, I fell head over heels in love with New York City. If you share the sentiment, this blog is for you. If you don’t, but still care to learn what the hell we could possibly love about a caustic, complex, cynical and all too often, sullied loony bin of a whistle stop like this, then this blog is also for you. I like to write about family, friends, neighbors, and dogs; growing up in the 60s and 70s; my previous work as a real estate broker, a software developer, and a teacher (best job ever); others who live and work here; bad things like crime and drugs; and anything else I can self-servingly pigeonhole into being about this side of the Hudson. Be forewarned that on occasion, I rewrite. This happens when I learn something new and have the time.
Please chime in; I respond to comments, emails, and shouts in my direction on the 3 train. I love feedback, acquiring knowledge, and anyone who cares enough to school me 😊
